ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS SEALED PROPOSALS addressed to Mr. J.C. Hughes, Jr., Public Services Director, City of Marshall, Texas will be received until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at the Water Utilities Department, 605 East End Blvd South, (P.O. Box 698) Marshall, Texas 75670, for the Harper Drive Sewer and Drainage Improvements. Bids will be opened and publicly read at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in the second floor Conference Room at the Water Utilities Department. PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS may be examined without charge in the office of the Water Distribution Superintendent. Bid forms, plans, specifications and contract documents may be examined or obtained at the office of Stokes & Associates, Inc., 605 South Main Street, 2nd Floor, Henderson, Texas 75654. One copy of each set of documents may be obtained from Stokes & Associates, Inc., upon payment of $20.00. Electronic copies can be emailed at no charge. The project basically consists of the following: The Project will include removal of several trees and root balls, construction of approximately 139 linear feet of 6” diameter sewer main and associated manholes, fittings and plugging of two lines to be abandoned. Approximately 36’ of 5’ x 2’ RCB storm sewer, headwalls, riprap protection, pavement repair (removal of existing 24” RCP and headwalls), approximately 268’ of improved channel with riprap lining and associated erosion control, traffic control and revegetation of disturbed areas in the 700 block of Harper Drive. A Bidder’s Bond, Certified or Cashier’s Check in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid shall accompany each bid as a guarantee that, if awarded the contract, the bidder will promptly enter into contract with the City of Marshall, Texas. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond, Payment Bond and Maintenance Bond. The successful bidder will be required to show proof of general liability and statutory worker’s compensation insurance as provided for in the contract documents. The City of Marshall reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Bids may be held by the City of Marshall for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder’s qualifications prior to the contract award.
